CATGHAN CAL 2019: Tying in Loose Ends + SC Border
I’ve had some questions during the CATGHAN CAL regarding how to tie in the loose ends (and there are quite a few of them!), as well as how to finish off each square with a border for connecting the squares together later on.
I have put together two separate videos over on my Ink & Stitches YouTube channel walking you through both of these techniques. One even has a sneak peek of tomorrow’s square!

Re the first square, the overall picture of the finished blanket seems to have a cute dog contemplating the cat’s tail., which is finished in the dog square. Should the border at the edges, where the tail would piece together, be finished in the matching color ?

In the video I show that the single crochet border is done using color changes to match the square. You don’t have to, but I think it looks nicer that way 🙂

In the video for the SC border you mentioned that there is a long side and short side. I can’t seem to figure out which is which, is there any advice you can share to figure it out? Thank you in advance.

Hi Tahlia! The long side is the side of the square that runs along the side of the double crochets. The short side would be the top of the double crochets where you see the V-shaped stitches. I hope that makes sense 🙂
