[responsivevoice_button voice=”UK English Female”]
There has been a lot of radio silence here at Ink & Stitches, and although I’ve missed being here to fill you in on all that I’m working on, I finally get to share some BIG news with you!
The Tales of Whimsy series continues
as we gear up for the release of Book 2:
The Wayward Wind
**Spoiler Alert: The following description of Book 2 gives away some important information you learn from reading Book 1. If you haven’t yet read Book 1, what are you waiting for?
You can snag a copy from IndiBound, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Target, and Walmart (online only). In the meantime, you can always skip the next paragraph so as not to have anything spoiled. If you have read Book 1, keep reading! This is too exciting not to!**
Book Description
Whimsy is Weyburn’s new Wishweaver, but when it comes time for the start of her very first wish season, there’s something strange in the air—something missing. As Whimsy spends the last moments of summer trying to right the misguided wishes of Weyburn’s elders, she’ll discover the piece of the Wishweaver puzzle that’s vanished… the wind. The West Wind has gone eerily silent, and without it, her wish magic has no force powerful enough to carry it where it needs to go. Wishes will once again go unanswered, unless Whimsy and her friends can find out what happened to The Wayward Wind.
Whimsy Crochet NEWS:
With the release of this book, you’ll also be getting a brand new pattern to make of yet another character from the Tales of Whimsy:
Rolland!
Is he not the cutest little roly-poly you’ve ever seen? The story wouldn’t be the same without Rolland. I was so excited to add him to the mix! There will be videos up on Ink & Stitches YouTube upon the book’s release explaining how to make and assemble dear, sweet Rolland from start to finish.
Also, the release of the Wishghan Crochet Along is fast approaching as I make my way through the last couple of C2C crochet squares/rectangles, and assemble the whole lot of them together with more videos for Ink & Stitches YouTube!
As always, you will be able to either follow along during the crochet along, or jump ahead as I’ll have everything all put together for you in one large PDF with: every pattern with art from the book, instructions on blocking, assembly, and the final border over on Etsy, Ravelry, and LoveCrafts!
Who’s planning to make this one with me? I can’t wait to see your blankets as you create them!

Cover Reveal Time!
Here it is! Tales of Whimsy (Book Two): The Wayward Wind…
Things to notice on the cover:
- The flowers you see at the bottom are one of the variations you’ll find in the milkweed family. Aren’t they pretty? For a flower with “weed” in the name, they don’t look anything like one! Wisps, like Whimsy’s best friend Flit, are the seeds of the milkweed plant that float in the West Wind and come from the seed pods produced toward the end of summer!
- Flit is still where we left him at the end of book one, holding Whimsy’s first sliver of wish magic, wrapped in spidersilk to hold them both in, now tied to Whimsy’s back for the next leg of their journey.
- Rolland is still right by Whimsy’s side.
- There seems to be a storm brewing, as the dark clouds roll in…
